Details Operating Room unit within a hospital setting Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM 26-week assignment length Epic EMR experience preferred Handles general, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic, and thoracic surgical cases including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, myringotomy, total joint replacement, and VATS procedures Performs endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and EGD Uses electrosurgical units and other OR equipment/instrumentation Provides PACU/recovery support Floating required between sister facilities within the state Requirements Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency management, code response, and fire safety required 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Must disclose any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles Additional Information Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless applying under the local candidate policy First-time travelers are not preferred for this role Non-billable training modules must be completed prior to start and annually, averaging 16 hours American Traveler Job ID P-749867.
