Chief Anesthesiologist opportunity at Boulders Ambulatory Surgery Center, serving Richmond, VA and the surrounding communities at a highly efficient outpatient orthopedic surgery center.

Boulders Ambulatory Surgery Center provides exceptional care in outpatient same-day surgeries for patients that do not require overnight hospitalization. Equipped with four operating rooms, the center is staffed by a dedicated team focused on delivering an outstanding patient experience in a safe and convenient setting.

This center has an outstanding track record of surgeons providing exemplary care in an outpatient surgery center. There are experienced block nurses at all times as part of a well-established group.

Responsibilities include assisting in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department, responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. Pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, and monitoring of the patient's physiological condition are also part of the role.

Requirements include an M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMG and FLEX completion, completion of an approved residency in anesthesia, and current licensure as a physician.
