We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing accounting team in Bloomington, Minnesota on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will support core accounting operations while providing strong general ledger oversight, improving reporting visibility, and helping maintain accurate financial records across day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to month-end work, reconciliations, and journal entries, along with the judgment to identify process improvements and support broader accounting needs.

Responsibilities:
• Manage general ledger activities and maintain accurate financial records across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and related accounting areas.
• Prepare and post journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and support a timely and accurate month-end close process.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate variances by reviewing supporting documentation and resolving outstanding items.
• Generate financial and operational reports from available systems and spreadsheets to improve visibility into account activity and aging balances.
• Assist with payment processing and respond to customer-related financial inquiries as part of daily accounting operations.
• Support the development and tracking of accruals, including helping establish payroll accrual processes for future reporting periods.
• Contribute to improvements in reporting accuracy, reconciliation workflows, and overall accounting controls using tools such as Oracle Fusion and Excel.
• Partner with accounting leadership to provide both hands-on execution and broader insight into process gaps, priorities, and opportunities for team growth.
• Participate in accounting-related system and process changes as needed, including support for evolving workflows and reporting practices.• 5+ years of accounting experience with strong senior-level expertise in general ledger activity and month-end close.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and handle bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and US GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience working with accruals and other recurring monthly accounting adjustments.
• Proficiency with Oracle Fusion and strong Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Background in financial reporting with the ability to review data, identify discrepancies, and produce clear outputs.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume operational environment that includes cross-functional coordination and direct issue resolution.
