Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience required in a high acuity and high pace environment. License: Current compact license required. Certifications: BLS, NRP required. Preferred certifications include ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate. Must-Have: Must have current supervisory references. Must pass clinical review. Description: Perm candidates from facilities outside of the local area are eligible for travel contracts only if they have been separated for at least 3 months. Candidates with less than 3 years of high-risk experience will not be considered. First timers are accepted for this position. Pre-approved time off will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating to postpartum/antepartum is required. Candidates may float to sister facilities that provide mother/baby care. The average daily census is 15 patients, with about 500-600 deliveries monthly. The unit consists of 31 rooms and 31 beds. Candidates must have experience circulating and providing care for newborns, including administering eye drops and Vitamin K injections. Experience in high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery environments is essential. A function of this role includes acting as a Baby Nurse during delivery and continuing care until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must be able to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments. Special procedures and unit details indicate a need for familiarity with various high-risk delivery scenarios and therapeutic treatments. Staffing will adhere to established guidelines. Candidates should be prepared to provide assessments and care for both mothers and newborns, including managing certain medical interventions. Yes, candidates may be expected to float to other units as necessary. References covering at least one year of recent experience must be provided.
