About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in high acuity and high pace environments. License: Compact license required. Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS preferred, AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: - Minimum of 3-5 years of high-risk labor and delivery experience. - Current supervisory references. - Proof of required certifications. - Ability to pass clinical review. Description: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specialized in Labor and Delivery. Candidates must have experience in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery environment. Preference for nurses with 5 years of high-risk experience, but candidates with 3 years may be considered if they possess high-risk experience. Candidates must have the ability to float to postpartum and antepartum. The unit requires participation in patient care for midwifery clients and adult recovery services. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is a critical requirement. Clinical staff will operate under AWHONN guidelines and perform all necessary procedures during delivery. Candidates are expected to provide newborn care directly after delivery, including assessments and necessary interventions. All procedures related to newborn care, including administering injections and assessments, are required. The average daily census is 15 patients, and the unit typically handles 500-600 deliveries monthly. Experience with high-risk obstetrical patients is essential. Candidates must be able to function in a fast-paced environment and handle high acuity situations effectively. The position requires adherence to scheduled shifts, including working every other weekend and on holidays. Prior experience in charge roles is beneficial, and candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. References covering the last three years must be provided. Traveling staff may be expected to float to neighboring units to support overall patient care. Refusal to float may lead to termination of the assignment.
