Overview LPN / LVN – Surgical Services (Peri-Anesthesia) Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME Full-time | Evenings | 8-Hour Shifts The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in Surgical Services with a focus on Peri-Anesthesia (Pre-Op / PACU support). Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports preoperative and postoperative patient care, ensuring patient safety, rapid recovery, and quality outcomes. To learn more, visit Responsibilities Provide pre-op and post-anesthesia patient care in a surgical setting Monitor vital signs, airway status, and recovery from anesthesia Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws Support patient preparation for surgery and post-op recovery Collaborate with RNs, anesthesiology, surgeons, and perioperative teams Ensure patient safety, infection control, and surgical protocols Document care in EMR/EHR systems Communicate changes in patient condition promptly Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
3. IV certificationandBlood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
4. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
5. Work experience in health care preferred.

Pay Transparency Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $27.00 to $30.75. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
