We are looking for a standout candidate who brings their whole self to work to foster an inviting and inclusive workplace for all.Position OverviewThe Director of Human Resources is a hands-on business partner responsible for leading and implementing our people strategy for approximately 400 employees across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will lead and develop our HR team, build strong partnerships, develop talent, support a culture of trust and inclusion, and provide practical solutions to organizational needs.Responsibilities and DutiesServe as a strategic HR partner and member of the executive leadership teamLead, coach, and develop the HR team while partnering with managers to strengthen leadership and management practicesProvide guidance on employee relations, investigations, performance management, leaves, accommodations, employment law, and HR complianceDevelop practical manager training on interviewing, supervision, documentation, employee relations, and HR best practicesSupport recruitment, retention, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development, particularly for critical and hard-to-fill rolesLead HR technology, reporting, and process improvements to increase efficiency and support data-informed decisionsPartner with internal and external experts on union matters, grievances, collective bargaining, and contract administrationMaintain a visible presence across programs and locations while supporting our frontline, hourly, and direct care workforcePartner with leadership on organizational development, culture, workplace safety, risk management, and other strategic people initiativesQualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experienceSignificant progressive HR experience, including experience leading an HR function or teamStrong employee relations, investigation, employment law, and HR compliance experience; Massachusetts experience strongly preferredExperience coaching and developing HR professionals and managersExperience supporting frontline, hourly, or direct care employees in a multi-location environmentStrong HR technology, communication, facilitation, leadership, and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, complex environmentBehavioral health, mental health, healthcare, human services, or nonprofit experience strongly preferredUnion and labor relations experience preferred; candidates with strong HR experience and a willingness to learn will also be consideredBenefits and PerksJoin a team of talented and committed leaders working in a mission-driven field; strong culture of collaboration and support for colleagues.
