Description

American Traveler is hiring a Transplant OR RN for a short-term acute care hospital's Operating Room unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of transplant experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital Operating Room specializing exclusively in abdominal transplants, including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures
• Weekend day shift: Saturday and Sunday plus one rotating weekday, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
• On-call and holiday coverage required
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate location

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA and RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of transplant OR experience required — this is a hard stop requirement
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have strong transplant OR experience
• Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this position
• Any previous permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month gap in IU employment before being considered as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Candidates must be available for an interview and should provide 2–3 days of availability upon applying
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
