Restaurant Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience in a quick-service or fast-casual environment
• Demonstrated hands-on leadership with experience hiring, coaching, and developing teams
• Experience managing fryer-based operations
• Strong working knowledge of restaurant financials, including P&L, food cost, and labor expenses
• Ability to create and manage employee schedules aligned with business needs
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be ServSafe certifiable

Restaurant Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience as an Assistant General Manager or high-level Assistant Manager
• Dairy Queen experience is a plus
• Background in budgeting, forecasting, and driving sales growth
• Proven success improving restaurant performance and guest satisfaction

Restaurant Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead all daily restaurant operations, maintaining food quality, service, cleanliness, and efficiency
• Manage inventory, ordering, food cost, labor, and other controllable expenses
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop employees while fostering a high-performance culture
• Build and oversee schedules to balance guest demand with labor goals
• Monitor restaurant financial performance, analyze operational trends, and drive profitability
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, food safety regulations, and company policies
• Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve concerns professionally
• Partner with ownership to set and achieve short- and long-term restaurant goals
