Senior Associate

This is a high-level role at a small, specialized Private Equity firm in Denver. Because the team is small (\"lean\"), you won't just be crunching numbers in a back room — you’ll be a key player in deciding which companies to buy and then helping run them! You will help the Private Equity firm find, buy, and grow transportation and logistics companies (like trucking, shipping, or warehouse firms). You aren't just a passive investor; you are a hands‑on partner to the business owners. What You’ll Actually Do The "Math" (Execution): You are the expert on the financial models. You’ll build the spreadsheets ($LBO$ models) that determine if a deal is profitable and manage the lawyers and accountants during the buying process. The "Strategy" (Analysis): You’ll research the shipping and logistics industry to figure out where the best opportunities are and how to make a company more valuable after you buy it. The "Work" (Portfolio Support): Once a company is bought, you’ll work directly with their leadership team to track their budget, improve their operations, and prepare for board meetings. The "Hunt" (Sourcing): You’ll look at new deal opportunities coming in and help decide which ones are worth the firm's time. Who They Are Looking For Experienced: You’ve done this for 2–4 years already (likely in banking or another PE firm). Technical: You can build complex financial models from scratch without someone holding your hand.
