Location: Minneapolis, MN

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on Azure , leveraging Databricks , SQL , and Snowflake to enable reliable, high-quality data for analytics and business decision-making
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory , Databricks , and related Azure services
- Build and maintain data models, schemas, and pipelines in Snowflake for analytics and reporting use cases
- Write efficient, well-structured SQL queries and stored procedures for data transformation and validation
- Develop and optimize PySpark/Spark jobs within Databricks notebooks for large-scale data processing
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting across pipelines
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Mentor junior engineers and review their code/design for quality and best practices
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices (CI/CD, version control, testing
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Blob Storage)
- Advanced SQL skills - query optimization, stored procedures, performance tuning at scale
- Substantial hands-on experience with Snowflake - data modeling, warehousing, and performance optimization
- Strong programming experience in Python or Scala for data processing
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT best practices
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work independently and lead initiatives
Good to Have
- Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Azure Data Factory pipelines)
- Knowledge of data governance and security frameworks
- Experience with real-time/streaming data (Kafka, Event Hubs)
- Relevant certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks certifications, SnowPro)
