Seeking RN Clinical Nurse II for UNC Health Youth Behavioral Health (YBH), in Butner, North Carolina. The Clinical Nurse II will primarily work on the 4YBH 10‑bed unit with pediatric patients with developmental disabilities needing crisis stabilization. The unit is part of a 54‑bed, 24‑hour, locked psychiatric facility rooted in a milieu‑based, trauma‑informed therapeutic setting. Weekday and weekend preferred, no on‑call. Qualifications RN with at least one year of nursing experience. Strong clinical experience in developmental disabilities and adolescent mental health preferred. Experience in behavioral health nursing (pediatric or adult) strongly preferred. Strong understanding of pediatric patients with developmental disabilities in need of crisis stabilization and behavioral/psychosocial care. Excellent communication and team skills. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Graduated from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6, 2014 must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a bachelor’s or master’s in nursing within seven years. Responsibilities Educate patients, families, and caregivers using appropriate materials and assessing readiness to learn. Evaluate patient outcomes, revise plan of care as needed, and communicate relevant information within the interdisciplinary team. Deliver competent care to patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects; perform bedside point‑of‑care testing. Implement nursing standards, policies, and procedures; prioritize care according to patient/family needs; consult resources timely. Develop goals for professional growth, collaborate on unit goals, and participate in performance improvement activities. Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment; provide cost‑effective care; give feedback to co‑workers; stay informed on public policy and regulations. Assess and anticipate discharge needs; build relationships with families to support advocacy. Collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care and identify cultural and ethnic issues. Keep current with evidence‑based practice by reading relevant journals. Education & Certification Graduation from a school of professional nursing; if hired after January 6, 2014, within four years of employment enroll in a bachelor’s or master’s in nursing and complete within seven years. Licensed RN in North Carolina; BLS for Healthcare Provider certification. Professional Experience At least one (1) year of nursing experience. Job Details Full time, 36 hours per week.
