Utility Fleet Services Shop MechanicUtility Fleet Services is one of North America's premier mobile fleet repair companies, and we are currently looking for a Shop Mechanic to join our team in Caldwell, Idaho. We are headquartered in Rupert, Idaho, and specialize in utility equipment and vehicle repairs. UFS is a fully owned subsidiary of Quanta Services, LLC.In this role, you will repair and maintain a wide range of utility construction equipment and vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks, light trucks, derricks, shovels, tractors, Lo-Drills, excavators, and wire-pulling equipment. Experience in heavy-duty repairs and light truck repair is required, with underground drill repair experience a plus.Responsibilities may also include fabrication, welding, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and other mechanical repairs as assigned. We provide career-growth opportunities for mechanics at all experience levels—from aspiring technicians to master-level mechanics.What You'll DoRepair and replace damaged or worn parts.Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.What You'll BringWillingness to travel nationwide2-5 years of unsupervised heavy equipment mechanic experience (we will consider applicants without experience if they have some type of formal training)Fabrication and welding experience preferredAbility to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs.Valid Class A Commercial Driver LicenseCompliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations.Valid DOT Medical CertificationHeavy equipment mechanic certification preferredPass pre-employment and other drug screening requirementsWhat You'll GetWe OfferEarn top-tier wages with additional per diem and travel pay when eligible.Enjoy exceptional benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with a strong company match.Be part of an industry-leading safety culture, strengthened by Quanta Services' unwavering commitment to safety and its world-class national training network.Access unlimited career growth opportunities and advance your future within the expansive Quanta family of companies.Please Note: We are not engaging with external recruiters or agencies for this role.
