Job Summary:
Histologist position available in PALO ALTO, California. This role involves embedding and cutting a variety of surgical and research tissue specimens, including autopsy specimens, biopsies, lymph nodes, breast tissue, and bone marrow. The worker will perform tissue sectioning, staining, and quality control to produce high-quality microscopic slides, supporting a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; ability to operate and maintain medical equipment; knowledge of tissue fixing, embedding, cutting, and staining procedures; 2 years of histology experience; valid certifications such as HTL-ASCP Histotechnologist or HTN-ASCP Histotechnician, or willingness to obtain within 1.5 years; ability to follow written and oral instructions; effective communication skills; organizational and multitasking abilities; adaptability; and knowledge of safety, infection prevention policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Must be able to work overtime and cover other shifts as needed, maintain a professional attitude, and actively participate in department meetings and safety protocols.
