Business Finance Analyst

WHAT’S THE JOB? We are seeking a Business Finance Analyst to support operations finance. Reporting to the Director, Operations, this role partners with operations and finance teams to analyze, forecast, and report financial results, supporting data-driven decision-making. Your work will include: Prepare monthly financial statements by contract/business unit vs budget and forecast Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations Support annual budgets, forecasts, and business planning Analyze site-level profitability, cost drivers, and KPIs Partner with operations leadership to improve financial performance Support month-end close including accruals and allocations Prepare financial reporting packages for stakeholders Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and GL review Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements Support audits and internal controls Provide ad-hoc analysis and business case support WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? Bachelor or Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business 3+ years of financial analysis Experience in contract or operations-based environments preferred Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting CPA (or working toward) is an asset Advanced Excel (modeling, pivot tables, data analysis) ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics) Experience with reporting/BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is an asset Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities Strong communication and stakeholder engagement Ability to translate financial results into operational insights Dexterra is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
