Employees are required to have flexibility to work our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer 3 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.This position is primarily a remote role but may require travel into the market on an as needed basis.Primary Responsibilities:Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notificationWork with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providersManage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census rolesProvide appropriate triage and care coordination notification cases for non-clinical assessment/interventionHandle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers. This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phoneRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experienceValid driver's licenseMust be 18 years of age OR older1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems1+ years of experience in a telephonic customer service position, such as a call centerProficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save and send documents and spreadsheets)Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic)Ability to work full time. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.Preferred Qualifications:Call center experienceKnowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codesClerical OR administrative support backgroundExperience working in a metric-driven work environmentExperience working with Medicare and / OR Medicaid ServicesExperience working within the health care Industry and with health care insuranceTelecommuting Requirements:Reside within Washington D.C., Maryland and VirginiaAbility to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacyMust live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet serviceSoft Skills:Ability to work independentlyStrong time management skillsMust be able to type and talk at the same time and navigate through multiple screensPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment.
