Job Description
Job Title: RN - Interventional Radiology

Must-Have: Comfortable administering conscious/moderate sedation (excluding propofol), administering IV medications, circulating cases

Description:
Facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with a focus on interventional radiology procedures.
There are two IR suites available for procedures.
Patient types include inpatient, outpatient, and ER cases.
Staff will assist with ultrasound-guided cases as well as CT cases when necessary.
The minimum staffing for a case includes one RN, one tech, and a radiologist/PA/APC.
More complex cases may require an additional RN or tech.
Procedures include paras/thoras, biopsies (bone, thyroid, liver, renal), abscess drainage, flowering of upper/lower extremities, g-tube insertions/exchanges, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, coil embolizations, nephrostomy tubes, and IVC filters.
Experience with Y90s/TIPS is preferred.
RNs need to be comfortable administering moderate sedation and managing IV medications.
Techs should be skilled in scrubbing into cases, operating the table, suturing, and circulating cases.
Support within the department includes four RNs and four techs in a fully staffed model.
The team will work with the radiologist, rapid response team, and a manager or supervisor who oversees daily operations.
Familiarity with the EMR system is preferred, as well as experience with specific medical equipment.
Flexibility for floating to CT to continue patient care may be necessary.
Work requires a weekend rotation with on-call responsibilities and holiday expectations.
The lead tech manages scheduling and approval of time off requests.
Scrubs will be provided, and the facility offers a locker room for personal items.
