Strategic Business Analyst

Our client is a fast-growing global leader in the fragrances industry, expanding its market presence while maintaining a collaborative, people-first culture. They are seeking a Strategic Business Analyst to serve as a key business partner to the General Manager of the U.S. Business Unit. About the Role This role transforms financial, commercial, and operational data into clear insights and practical recommendations that support profitable growth, stronger business performance, and informed decision-making. The position works closely with the General Manager and interacts primarily with Sales, Finance, and relevant operational teams. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with analytical rigor, sound judgment, and the ability to challenge assumptions and communicate recommendations clearly. What You'll Do Strategic Business Analysis Partner directly with the General Manager to support strategic planning, execution, and key business decisions Build financial and commercial models to support investments, pricing decisions, and customer strategies Support annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning Commercial & Sales Analytics Analyze sales performance by customer, territory, category, product, and salesperson Develop profitability analyses by customer, account, and product portfolio Evaluate new business opportunities, pricing strategies, and customer investments Financial Analysis Monitor gross margin, contribution margin, and operating performance Develop financial models to evaluate investment decisions and strategic initiatives Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency Business Intelligence & Reporting Maintain dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting tools Present findings to senior leadership with clear, actionable recommendations Cross-Functional & Process Support Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives involving Sales, Finance, and relevant operational teams Leverage SAP, Formpak, and business intelligence tools to improve reporting, analytics, and data quality Support digital transformation and continuous improvement projects What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Analytics, Accounting, or a related field Several years of experience in business analysis, FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic analytics Strong understanding of financial metrics, KPIs, profitability analysis, budgeting, and forecasting Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Experience in fragrance, cosmetics, beauty, consumer packaged goods, or specialty chemicals is preferred MBA or another advanced business degree is preferred Systems Expertise Power-user proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI or a comparable BI platform Experience with SAP ERP; Formpak experience is a plus Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook #J-18808-Ljbffr Mackinnon Bruce International
