Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering friendly, attentive service in a fast-paced beachside restaurant environment. This role requires strong product knowledge, efficiency behind the bar, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests while supporting servers and maintaining Sandestin's service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and resort standards
• Provide engaging, professional service to bar guests and dining room patrons
• Maintain full knowledge of beverage menus, specialty cocktails, beer, and wine offerings
• Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service
• Accurately enter orders into POS and process guest payments
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service
• Assist servers with beverage orders in a timely manner
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
• Set up and break down bar area including opening and closing duties
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and alcohol compliance regulations
• Create a fun, welcoming environment consistent with the Beach House's casual coastal atmosphere
• Collaborate with restaurant leadership and team members to ensure seamless service

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience preferred, ideally in a high-volume or resort environment
• Knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, and wine service
• Strong and Clear communication and multitasking skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Professional appearance and positive, guest-focused attitude
• Basic math and cash handling skills
• Must be dependable and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
• Food Handler and Responsible Alcohol Service certifications required (or ability to obtain)

Work Environment

• Combination of indoor bar and open-air beachfront service areas
• Exposure to heat, humidity, wind, sun, and changing weather conditions
• Fast-paced resort environment with high seasonal guest volume
• Standing bar service with frequent guest interaction

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift)
• Frequently lift and carry cases, kegs, and bar supplies up to 40 lbs
• Continuous reaching, bending, twisting, and hand movement
• Ability to work quickly and safely in tight bar spaces
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as well as indoors
• Maintain stamina during high-volume service periods
• Safely handle glassware, bar tools, and beverage equipment
