Senior Systems Administrator (Linux)Denver, COAs a Sr. Linux Information Systems Administrator your responsibilities will include:Technical Support: Provide expert assistance to users in resolving technical issues with applications, connectivity, and other IT-related concerns.Cybersecurity Expertise: Conduct environmental vulnerability scans, remediate vulnerabilities, and perform system hardening to ensure the security of our systems.Root Cause Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis to resolve technical issues in Linux environments, identifying and addressing the root causes of problems.System Performance Optimization: Analyze and assess server performance, storage capacity, and plan for future needs to ensure optimal system performance.Scripting and Automation: Leverage your scripting skills to automate routine tasks, such as server and workstation patching, and streamline IT processes.Asset Management: Oversee the management and control of assets and software, ensuring compliance with company policies.Basic Qualifications:Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required at this facility)Must possess a CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8572 qualified certificate (or obtain within the first 60 days of employment)Experience performing successful root cause analysis for problem resolution in Unix and Linux environments, with significant experience in:Installing operating routine server/workstation patches, system security patches and firmware updatesCreating / managing security groupsCoordinating hardware repair activitiesDiagnosing and resolving hardware/software problems/issuesCreating scripts to automate system administration tasksCreating / editing Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) documentationVulnerability remediation and security management (system hardening, log management, configuration management [i.e., Nessus, Trellix, Splunk, SCAP, HBSS])Desired Skills:Working knowledge of Hyper-V or VMwareProficiency in working with OpenStack components and servicesProficiency in working with AWS Cloud components and servicesExperience with RKE2, Rancher, Longhorn, and Docker containersProficiency in various operating systems, such as Linux/Unix, Windows ServerUnderstanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.)Configuration and management of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devicesExperience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability managementProficiency in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate repetitive tasksEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
