HVAC Field Service Operations Manager

Location: Sarasota, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 per year, based on experience

A day in this role

You start the morning reviewing the service schedule, aligning the right technicians to the right calls, and confirming materials and equipment are in motion. Throughout the day, you field customer updates, coach technicians through complex troubleshooting, track labor and costs, and keep projects moving—always with safety, quality, and code compliance in mind. By afternoon, you’re refining maintenance agreement pricing, checking billing accuracy, and collaborating with sales and management on purchasing and manpower plans. You wrap by scanning productivity metrics and finding the next opportunity to elevate service delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Direct daily operations of the HVAC service department and oversee technician scheduling.
• Coordinate service calls, repairs, and preventive maintenance agreements—ensuring labor, materials, and equipment are ready to go.
• Lead, mentor, and provide hands-on technical support to HVAC service technicians.
• Track technician productivity, staffing levels, workload distribution, and labor costs.
• Review work orders, scopes, job progress, and billing for accuracy and completeness.
• Engage with customers and resolve service concerns with professionalism and urgency.
• Partner with sales and management on purchasing, manpower planning, and operational priorities.
• Contribute to maintenance agreement pricing and data-driven service recommendations.
• Ensure all work meets applicable HVAC codes, permits, licensing requirements, and industry standards.
• Continuously identify process improvements that boost efficiency, customer experience, and margins.

What you bring

• Robust HVAC service background across installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Experience with commercial HVAC; mechanical and electrical systems exposure preferred. Industrial HVAC experience is a plus.
• Proven supervisory or service management experience in HVAC.
• Clear communication, strong organization, decisive problem-solving, and steady leadership.
• Ability to interpret HVAC diagrams, plans, and technical manuals.
• High school diploma or GED required; HVAC technical training preferred.
• HVAC Journeyman License and EPA certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
