About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established commercial framing contractor, is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Project Coordinator to support the planning, design, and preconstruction phases of large-scale construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong construction background who enjoys working both in the office and in the field while collaborating with clients, project managers, and estimating teams. This is not a Superintendent role and not a traditional Estimator position. Instead, you'll serve as a key link between design, estimating, project management, and operations to help ensure projects are set up for success before construction begins.
Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Assist with project layouts and design coordination using AutoCAD.
- Support preconstruction planning and bidding activities.
- Coordinate with estimating and project management teams throughout the bidding process.
- Meet with clients, builders, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Visit local job sites to review existing conditions and assist with project planning.
- Review project scope and identify constructability concerns.
- Assist with project transitions from preconstruction into operations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction.
- Experience working for a framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, structural steel, or general contracting company.
- Strong understanding of preconstruction processes and construction sequencing.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for layout review and design coordination.
- Spanish/English bilingual (required).
- Client-facing experience with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work both in the office and visit local project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large commercial or multifamily projects.
- Project coordination or Assistant Project Manager experience.
- Exposure to estimating, bidding, or project planning.
- Experience with BuildPro, SupplyPro, Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software.
- Knowledge of framing layouts and construction detailing.
