We need three software developers with Next.js that can now sit in Chicago, IL, Manassas, VA, Wilmington, DE, Overland, KS, or Urbandale, IA. Candidates do not need to have lead experience (lead is a plus) but do need recent Next.js. Both positions must have experience working with Next.js and other technologies like React.js. Candidates need to be onsite four days a week and can sit in any of these locations - Chicago, IL, Manassas, VA, Wilmington, DE, Overland, KS, or Urbandale, IA.

Job Description

We are seeking a UI Development Lead to guide and mentor a front-end development team while driving innovation, quality, and operational excellence across UI initiatives. This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in front-end development, extensive experience in Agile and DevOps frameworks, and the ability to interface with both business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of front-end/UI developers to deliver high-quality, scalable user interfaces.
• Oversee and ensure successful implementation of UI components throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Operate effectively within Agile, DevOps, and ITIL/ITSM frameworks, ensuring seamless team operations and project delivery.
• Manage and optimize development processes using Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, designers, back-end developers, and QA teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of UI solutions.
• Set and monitor performance metrics for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching to support career growth and performance excellence.
• Translate complex business requirements into intuitive and performant UI components and workflows.
• Drive the adoption of modern front-end technologies and frameworks in alignment with strategic IT and business goals.
• Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends and best practices, especially within the insurance or P&C domain.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the leadership level within BTS.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in front-end/UI development with modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• 3+ years of proven leadership experience in a software development or UI-specific role.
• Solid experience and understanding of DevOps, Agile methodologies, ITSM/ITIL, and software adoption frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Demonstrated ability to guide teams through operational frameworks while tracking and improving team performance.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex UI and performance issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas to both technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile SDLC frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Familiarity with UI/UX best practices and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, ARIA).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
