Location- Birmingham, AL.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Drafter II to support transmission line surveying and right-of-way projects. The ideal candidate will have 2 5 years of drafting experience and strong CAD skills related to survey, transmission line, right-of-way, boundary, and topographic drawings.
An Associate Degree in Drafting and Design is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Perform CAD drafting for transmission line projects.
- Prepare drawings for:
- Transmission line centerlines
- Right-of-way surveys
- Boundary surveys
- Topographic surveys
- Land tie surveys
- Interpret survey data, deeds, plats, and other property-related documents.
- Prepare and write metes and bounds descriptions and centerline descriptions for assigned projects.
- Research existing survey and real estate records .
- Support survey field crews and office personnel with project-related drafting and documentation.
- Contact local, county, and state agencies to obtain right-of-way and property information.
- Review survey information for completeness and accuracy.
- Organize and transmit completed project drawings and documentation.
- Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, field crews, and other project personnel as needed.
- 2 5 years of drafting experience required.
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Design, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience using CAD drafting software .
- Experience with surveying, transmission lines, utilities, or right-of-way projects preferred.
- Knowledge of metes and bounds, property descriptions, survey plats, and right-of-way documentation preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret deeds, surveys, maps, and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both field and office personnel.
