Reports to: Director of Community Engagement & Impact

Evergreen Habitat is searching for an engaged and dynamic individual to serve as our Community Engagement Coordinator. This position will work with the Director of Community Engagement & Impact in supporting Habitat’s efforts in the Hidden Village Mobile Home Park community. This position will utilize an asset-based community development approach to support the residents of the Hidden Village community, building trust, supporting residents in their homeownership journey, and responding to community needs.
Responsibilities:
- Act as point person for residents living in Hidden Village supporting them with needs related to repairs, paying rent, etc.
- Collect community ideas, needs, opportunities, and feedback through surveys, focus groups, meetings, door-to-door, and one-on-one interactions.
- Co design, organize, and facilitate listening sessions and community meetings and events.
- Assist residents on their homeownership journey with Habitat, ensuring residents are supported and engaged in the process.
- Communicate program requirements and expectations to residents about Habitat’s homeownership program, acting as a liaison between residents and the Homeownership Services department.
- Helps facilitate partnerships and resource referral between residents, local organizations, and Habitat to strengthen community capacity and support resident needs.
- Maintains transparency and two-way communication with residents, ensuring the community is informed, engaged, and has shared power in decision-making processes.
- Conducts outreach to residents, faith groups, businesses, and local organizations.
- Proactively identify barriers to resident participation (e.g., language, transportation, or childcare) and sets up systems to reduce barriers.
- Identify, recruit, and cultivate resident leaders to participate in organizing efforts.
- Tracks resident interests, concerns, and feedback to inform Habitat’s strategies.
- Attend and represent Habitat at tabling fairs, community events, and speaking engagements, representing Habitat in a variety of settings.
- Assist other staff members and/or board members as assigned.
Schedule:
Forty hours per week. Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required with some weekend and evening requirements.
Position Requirements:
- Support and endorse the Habitat for Humanity mission.
- Strong people skills and comfort engaging in community settings
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with local community is highly valued
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends for community events (as needed)
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people from various demographics
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and meeting facilitation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining flexible and calm.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to run errands as necessary.
General Work Schedule:
- 40 hours/week; variable, includes occasional evenings and weekends
- On-site at the Hidden Village Mobile Home Park and at the Evergreen Habitat office. Occasional work from home available.
- Current hours: 9am-5pm Monday- Friday

Occasional requirements are to move about the office and community. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. Evening and weekend work may be required.
Salary and benefits:
Salary: $45,000, dependent on experience and skills. Benefits include paid medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, retirement contributions, paid time off, and a flexible work environment.
