Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry / Cardio Thoracic

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Full-Time | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 70-bed Cardio Thoracic unit serving patients with diagnoses including MI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgeries with chest tubes, and esophagectomy
• Perform continuous EKG interpretation and monitor telemetry using Philips monitoring systems, in collaboration with on-unit monitor technicians
• Titrate drips including Cardizem and heparin per unit protocols
• Manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP (home regimen), and heated high-flow oxygen as applicable
• Float to other general medical units as needed
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements; nights rotate Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation
• Experience with medication titration and drip management
• Competency in all fundamental nursing skills
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; position is located on a drug-free campus

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification (recommended)
• Prior experience in a telemetry, cardiac, or cardio thoracic nursing setting
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
