Physician Assistant

Assesses patients (office setting). Obtains a complete history and physical on new patients. Obtains current history of present problem on established patients. Educates patients with regard to their medical condition, providing educational materials if available. Charts and dictates progress notes appropriately. Confers with physician on patients presenting with more complex problems. Education Experience 1 Year - Preferred License & Certification Professional License with State of Practice - Required Core Job Functions Educates patients with regard to their medical condition. Comprehensive review of the patient's medical history is performed and documented. Consults with other medical professional and physicians when needed. Prescribes medications that are necessary to control medical condition. Refers patient to specialist when necessary. Orders lab work, radiology studies as needed to better assess the patient's condition. Obtains a complete history and physical on new patients. Charts and dictates progress notes appropriately. Confers with physician on patients presenting with more complex problems. Clinical procedures are carried out based on clinical protocol. Informs patients about procedures prior to performing and communicates results to patients. Informs patients on provider instructions and any preparations. Performs PAP smears and breast exams. Performs minor surgical procedures. Performs stress testing and EKGs, and consults with physicians on results. Refers patients to specialists if needed. Maintains liaison with other disciplines, such as social services, nutritional speech therapy, physical therapy, pastoral care, and pain management. Implements plan of care.
