Open Position – Independent Verification & Validation Project Manager Location: Austin, TX Job Id: IVVP-26-013 # of Openings: 1 About the Opportunity As an Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Project Manager, you will work with cutting‑edge technologies and collaborate with a talented team of professionals supporting a state client. The role involves monitoring and evaluating software development and system modernization activities in a statewide implementation effort. Responsibilities Provide project support and oversight of state government software development efforts. Monitor Scrum teams to ensure projects are executed properly. Provide oversight of software development activities related to enterprise software enhancements and maintenance. Prepare and deliver reports and presentations related to the project and findings to client leadership. Provide insight on key Agile Discovery, Sprint, and Release activities. Monitor projects for risks and issues and report those to the client. Support and contribute to written weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc reports. Apply advanced thinking to problems with encouragement and support. Conduct research into identified and potential client problems. Conduct deep review of vendor deliverables for the assigned functional scope area for completeness and correctness. Conduct risk assessments to help the client resolve technical issues and/or discrepancies with existing policies and procedures. Engage in team strategic discussions. Support the client and stakeholders in achieving project success. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related area (or eight years of experience in lieu of a degree). At least five years of experience in Independent Verification and Validation in a large and complex software development environment. Preferred experience with hands‑on software development and/or testing. Minimum three years in an Agile SDLC environment (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.). PMP certification. Experience with enterprise software transformation, modernization, including migrations and integrations. Familiarity with information technology industry standards and best practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines. Strong people and presentation skills, with simple, clear communication. Desired Qualifications Based in or near Austin, TX. Experience providing consulting or advisory services to a government client or agency. Experience with all phases of the IT Disaster Management Cycle.
