*Job Overview:**

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. ·The ideal candidate will be responsible for check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, answering the phone, verifying demographics, data entry, collecting co-pays, confirming appointments, verifying insurance, monitoring delinquent accounts, patient collections , resolving routine account issues. Computer proficiency is a must. Familiarity with insurance verification is required. Understanding Medicare regulations is required.

**Duties:**

- Assisting in a variety of administrative tasks

- Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance guidelines and regulations

- Handle patient inquiries regarding billing issues

- Must be able to remain composed, tactful, and calm at all times

- Ensure regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and other federal, state, and local regulations

- Maintain physical environment and equipment for effective operations

-Schedule appointments.

-Maintain medical records.

-Reconcile account information.

-Arrange for emergency maintenance visits for building.

-Assist biller with claims information for insurance.

-Submit billing statements to patients.

-Perform data entry and processing.

-Performs other duties as required to effectively meet the needs of the practice

-Various professional requests for any changes as deemed necessary for the successful day to day operation of the office and to keep up with industry standards of operation.

-Fax patient documents

- Maintain work area to ensure healthy organized work environment

-Monitor and respond to voicemails/emails

-Validate patient demographics

-Collects co-payments and other payments before appointments

-Verify insurance and assist with billing as needed

-Maintain reception area and lobby area in a neat, orderly, and clean condition at all times.

-Interact with patients and visitors in a positive, pleasant, and professional manner

-Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments

-Obtain necessary signatures and forms based on appointment type

-Schedule follow up visits

-Schedule appointments

**Requirements:**

- Proficiency with verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations and referrals

- Proficiency in medical front office duties

- Familiarity with medical office procedures and electronic medical records systems

-  Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
