As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area while supporting three Advanced Practice Providers (APP's) in the Gastroenterology department. You will triage calls, schedule appointments and procedures and communicate with the physicians to provide the best care possible to the patients.This is a great hands-on learning opportunity that can lead to growth within the organization.A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area.Assign tasks, monitor performance and assist in training patient service representatives.Screen candidates, recommend hires, conduct performance appraisals and recommend corrective counseling.Develop, implement and oversee programs to improve appointment utilization such as reminders and follow-ups on no-show/cancellation program.Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems.Adjust employees, patients and physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems.Control and audit the reconciliation of day sheets including adjusting statistics in the computer data bank.Produce reports as needed.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma or GEDTwo years of Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or other equivalent position, which includes interacting with patients, physicians and other departments on a problem resolution basisOR three years of external outpatient scheduling experience where demonstrated experience includes resolving patient scheduling and the coordination of the work of othersAssociate's Degree may substitute for one year of experienceBachelor's Degree may substitute for the experience requirementPhysical Requirements:Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.
