The Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), recording information in medical records, and preparing examination rooms. Basic computer skills are required. Annual competencies must be maintained. The role requires understanding and implementing detailed instructions for therapeutic procedures and making accurate physical observations. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Must be certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA, NAHP, or equivalent. Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross is required. The position may require working rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex-safe environment.
