This is an on-site position. The Application Support Specialist provides technical support to end users for a variety of Arizona Department of Education applications./pp Responds to specific needs of teachers and administrators and complex customer inquiries via phone and email/pp Provides one-to-one training to end users regarding systems functionality to audiences with varying levels of computer experience/pp Answers general how-to questions for a variety of ADE applications, such as password support and troubleshooting content issues/pp Updates and maintains logs of customer support issues within ADE systems and escalates issues that cannot be resolved to the IT team/pp Performs other duties upon request./pp Associates degree or equivalent from a technical school; Bachelors degree in information technology, education, or related is preferred/pp Minimum of 1 year technical help-desk work experience required/pp Basic technical knowledge of databases, networking, web servers, computer hardware and browsers required/pp Knowledge of the Arizona k-12 school system preferred/pp Working knowledge of student information systems and project management software preferred/pp Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions/pp Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment/pp Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping their management informed of project related issues/pp Ability to work under pressure/pp Ability to respectfully question ideas and share a point of view with others in support of the business requirements and needs/pp Proven strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis/pp Excellent written and verbal communication skills/pp Strong aspiration to learn new technologies/pp Proven strong relationship-building and communication skills with team members and business users/pp Ability to maintain confidentiality/pp-Windows 7 - Intermediate - 3 yrs exp/pp-MS Office - Advanced - 3 yrs exp/ppAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
