Job Title Licensed Veterinary Technician – Tier 1 to Tier 4 (LVT) at Cara Veterinary, Animal Hospital of Parkland, Washington State. About the Hospital and Location The Animal Hospital of Parkland is an established veterinary facility in Washington state. Tier 2 LVT – Builds upon Tier 1; performs expanded clinical procedures, in‑house lab work, advanced medical equipment management, diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and maintains exemplary client service. Tier 3 LVT – Advanced clinical responsibilities including anesthesia, surgical support, anesthetic equipment management, ophthalmological procedures, and direct client education on treatment plans. Tier 4 LVT – Highest proficiency; masters all prior tiers; performs intraperitoneal injections, advanced medical administration, leads and trains junior staff, mentors team members, and drives continuous improvement in patient care. Shake things up – continuously innovate and improve care delivery. Qualifications Valid Licensed Veterinary Technician registration in Washington. Minimum one year experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program. High school diploma or higher education. Excellent computer skills and ability to use practice‑management software. Experience in back‑office or front‑office roles is preferred. Strong communication, education, and client advocacy skills. Reliable, trustworthy, adaptable, and resilient. Special Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Workdays involve standing, sitting, typing at a computer. Physical strength to lift objects up to 50 lb. alone and to assist in lifting patients over 50 lb. Ability to restrain patients safely and confidently around various pets. Comfortable with moderate noise levels. Capable of following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and solving multi‑variable problems. Ambulatory throughout the hospital and able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb. Good hand‑eye coordination and dexterity; visual acuity for keyboard use, equipment operation, and reading information. Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment. Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch and to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications. Experience, Education, and Training At least one year in a Licensed Veterinary Technician role. Graduation from an accredited veterinary technology program with state registration. High school diploma or higher education. Strong computer proficiency. Preferred: Prior back‑office or front‑office experience.
