This role is responsible for the accurate accounting, analysis, and reporting of oil, natural gas, NGL, and other hydrocarbon revenues. The ideal candidate will bring strong oil & gas revenue accounting experience, advanced analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of ownership interests, royalty obligations, severance taxes, and regulatory reporting requirements.This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Operations, Land, Legal, Production Accounting, and Financial Reporting teams while contributing to process improvements and strategic initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesRecord and reconcile oil, natural gas, NGL, and related revenue transactionsReview purchaser statements and revenue distribution reports for accuracy and completenessPrepare monthly revenue accruals and variance analysesInvestigate production and revenue discrepancies with Production Accounting and Marketing teamsAnalyze and reconcile revenue suspense balances and resolve outstanding itemsReview ownership changes and ensure proper revenue distributions based on division orders and ownership recordsPrepare revenue-related account reconciliationsPrepare severance tax calculations and regulatory filingsSupport governmental royalty reporting, including ONRR reporting as applicableAssist with SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit requestsSupport quarterly and annual financial reporting requirementsAnalyze revenue trends, pricing, deductions, transportation costs, and production impactsPrepare revenue variance analyses for management reviewParticipate in system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and process improvementsLeverage reporting tools and data analytics to improve efficiency and accuracyServe as a key contact for royalty owners, working interest owners, auditors, and regulatory agenciesPartner with Production Accounting, Division Orders, Land, Legal, Operations, and Financial Reporting teamsProvide guidance and support to revenue accounting team members as neededAssist with special projects and ad hoc analysisQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive oil & gas revenue accounting experienceStrong knowledge of revenue distribution, division orders, ownership interests, severance taxes, and state/federal regulatory reportingAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and large data set analysisPreferredCPA or CPA candidateExperience with Midcon propertiesExperience with ONRR, BLM, or similar regulatory reportingExperience with Quorum or comparable oil & gas accounting systemsExperience supporting SOX controls and public company reporting requirementsWhat You'll BringStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organizational and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departmentsBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision InsuranceBasic and Voluntary Life / AD&D Coverage401(k) Retirement PlanBonus PotentialIf interested in the above position, please apply today!
