QUALIFICATIONS Strong interpersonal and communication skills RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate and participate in determination of eligibility of students for special education and/or related services according to NJAC 6A:14. Serve a member of the basic Child Study Team. Serve as a case manager for students with disabilities by coordinating the development, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of IEP's. Deliver appropriate related services to students. Provide preventive and support services to students with disabilities. Provide services to the general education staff regarding techniques,materials and programs for students experiencing difficulties in learning. Prepare psychological assessment reports as required by state regulations for the eligibility determination for special education related services. Interpret psychological assessments to parents, teachers, principals and otherappropriate staff members. Participate in the decisions regarding classification, placement recommendations and program development and implementation of the IEP. Serve as a member of the I&RT Team or CORE Team as directed. Act as a resource person and consultant for Morris School District staff members, students, parents and the community. Communicate with and serve as members of appropriate school and community committees/agencies. Maintain contacts with other professionals in the field of mental health and special education. Provide school-based psychological or crisis-intervention services asneeded. Perform such other tasks and assuming such other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services or designee. Contract Terms: 184 days/year Position requires appropriate New Jersey Certification.
