Orthopedic Technician, Sr Location: Houston, TX Pay Rate: Starting at $27.00/hour Schedule: Varies 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Orthopedic Technician, Sr to support a leading healthcare system in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a hands‑on clinical professional with strong casting expertise who thrives in a fast‑paced orthopedic or pediatric setting. You will play a vital role in supporting providers, delivering direct patient care, and ensuring an efficient clinic workflow. Responsibilities Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces using both fiberglass and plaster techniques Perform basic orthopedic hardware maintenance and assist with minor procedures Prepare patients for examination, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints Assist providers during exams, treatments, and procedures Educate patients and families on cast care, skin care, and post‑procedure instructions Monitor and report abnormal findings or patient concerns to licensed staff Coordinate patient flow by rooming patients efficiently and updating tracking systems Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient care Manage casting supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels Support patient satisfaction by addressing concerns and communicating delays effectively Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (required) Minimum 3 years of orthopedic technician experience (required) Proven experience with fiberglass and plaster casting, splinting, and hardware maintenance Strong knowledge of orthopedic instrumentation, casting techniques, and aseptic procedures Experience in a pediatric setting (preferred) Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care workflows Ability to take and interpret vital signs and recognize abnormalities Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced clinical environment Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred Benefits Competitive pay with a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)) Flexible weekday scheduling options Opportunity to work in a specialized orthopedic and pediatric care environment Supportive, collaborative, and patient‑centered team culture #J-18808-Ljbffr
