Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2350 per week.

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. Must have heparin drip experience.

Special Requests: Block scheduling may be possible with staffing.

Unit Details: Neuro Med-Surg acute unit caring for stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and other neuroscience patients, with some medical overflow. Nurse-patient ratios: day shift 1:4-5; nights 1:5-6. RNs titrate heparin drips based on PTT. House-wide telemetry; nurses do not need to read strips. Uses Phillips monitors. High-flow oxygen for stable COVID patients only, rarely.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. Every other holiday. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float in rotation with staff. On general unit floors, travelers take a full assignment. If floated outside a general unit for urgent need, clinicians will only perform skills they are competent to do and will be assigned with a nurse trained for that unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
