Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2290 per week.

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. - Heparin titrated drip experience required.

Special Requests: - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. - Scheduling requests will be considered, and block scheduling may be possible with staffing.

Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratios: days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6; surgical staffing may increase ratios to days 1:6 and nights 1:7. - Common patient population includes stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow. - RNs titrate heparin drips based on PTT. - High-flow oxygen for stable COVID patients only (very rare). - Uses Phillips telemetry monitors; nurses do not read their own strips.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. - Every other holiday. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of staff. - On general unit floors, travelers take a full team. - If floated outside a general unit for urgent need, assignments will be limited to skills the clinician is competent to perform and paired with a nurse trained for that unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
