Mobile Trailer Mechanic II $3000 New Hire Bonus

New Hire Bonus $3,000 new hire bonus, 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days. Position Mobile Trailer Technician II – on-site (dedicated) position. This role does not include on-call emergency roadside repairs. The Mobile Trailer Technician II will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light repairs, and other duties such as trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels, body and framework. Work is performed at the customer site. More advanced repairs may be performed under supervision of a Sr Mobile Trailer Technician or higher. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various trailers and equipment with minimal supervision. Document work per company standards, including uploading photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailers and equipment, including hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics and repairs, power/mechanical systems, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, and brake chambers. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical components. Follow safe operating practices and procedures at all times. Independently manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck equipment; reconcile periodically. Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Apply knowledge gained through formal training or on-the-job experience to perform duties; interpret technical information related to the job. Collaborate with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve issues, and meet expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work, and allocate time effectively. Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards in line with company policies. Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in mobile/field environments. Respond to dispatches for unscheduled service and maintenance. Utilize hand tools, precision instruments, trailer tools, welding equipment, and jacks. Operate with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule. Maintain productivity within standard repair times and obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support teams to obtain approvals, retrieve purchase orders, and discuss RO findings. Ensure all work complies with safety, health, environmental policies, and applicable regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Complete required safety training and maintain good working relationships with customers and vendors. Remain up to date on safety protocols and procedures. Requirements High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience (Trailers); or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years of related field experience. Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a single-tech/dedicated environment. OEM training and certifications are preferred. Participate in and complete all required company training. DOT/FMCSA regulations apply; able to pass DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical unless a valid DOT medical card is provided with sufficient validity. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority. Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File. ASE T8 (PMI) certification required within 18 months.
