Details Work in a High Risk Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting Unit supports antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor & delivery, and mother/baby care Facility averages 200-300 births per month Patient ratios of 1:1-2 in L&D and 1:3 in antepartum Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 Weekend rotation required No on-call responsibilities Uses Epic EMR system Requirements Active CA RN license Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications C-EFM certification preferred Minimum 2 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience required Trauma Level II hospital experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Must pass an on-site EKG competency test with a minimum score of 80% Proficient in skills including IV therapy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, sterile vaginal exams, EFM use, and assisting with high-risk and cesarean deliveries Additional Information Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care across antepartum, labor & delivery, and postpartum stages Develop and coordinate patient care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, and lifestyle factors Maintain collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, and care teams Perform procedures such as amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock management, and neonatal care in the delivery room Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed Support postpartum care including cesarean recovery, couplet care, and lactation support Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request permitted Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Local candidates accepted at local rate Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless approved for local rate Returning staff must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-748130.
