Assistant Vice President, Real Estate Lending Projects & Portfolio Management

Responsibilities Oversee and lead efforts to identify, develop and implement innovative strategic initiatives for systems and process improvement to maximize operational efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators, determine gaps in performance metrics, and recommend or execute change‑management techniques for efficiency and quality improvements. Oversee benchmarking and trend analysis to drive continuous process improvement, increase front‑line team member and member experience quality, and maintain high operational efficiency. Oversee project management priorities, portfolio, and leverage capacity‑planning models; ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation. Collaborate with other business units within Real Estate Lending, Lending and ETS (IT), support areas, and stakeholders (e.g., Operational Risk, Office of General Counsel, Compliance, and Procurement) to ensure compliance and manage risk exposure. Develop and oversee team strategy, establish priorities, and set goals; evaluate and implement standards to ensure alignment with department and organizational objectives. Manage and direct operations to ensure targets, service level agreements, and corporate objectives are met. Identify and resolve operational and performance gaps and obstacles; implement changes and improvements. Provide broad‑level leadership for large strategic programs and/or projects. Develop and implement compliance strategies and initiatives; maintain existing strategies. Foster a partnership approach of working with other teams across the organization and with key business stakeholders. Serve as subject‑matter expert regarding Project & Portfolio Management functions, systems, policies, and procedures. Anticipate internal and external business challenges, including regulatory matters, and recommend process, product, and service enhancements. Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business needs. Contribute to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines and communicating knowledge and business processes to other business units. Provide forward‑thinking expertise in current and emerging trends, technologies, and practices. Maintain thorough knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and NFCU policies and procedures. Monitor and analyze changes to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations; develop action plans for implementation and dissemination. Monitor work environment and direct allocation of resources to ensure adequate staffing to meet business unit needs. Serve as change‑management lead for Real Estate Lending; develop strategies including organizational assessments, stakeholder analysis, and change roadmaps and plans. Stay abreast of the business environment, financial services, and associated trends to ensure competitive business conditions and incorporate new developments. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Expert knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations (e.g., HMDA, Safe Act). Expert knowledge of banking and financial industry trends, products, and services. Significant experience leading and managing a project and process improvement operation, preferably in a large financial institution. Extensive experience with business models (Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, Prince 2, TQM, ISO, Scrum/Agile). Extensive experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors. Extensive experience managing cross‑functional, multi‑dimensional teams and projects of the highest complexity with business risk and impact. Extensive experience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals. Ability to work in a fast‑paced business environment and manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting changing requirements and priorities. Extensive experience supervising and leading employees. Expert skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions. Expert skill in project management, including establishing and leading project teams, managing timelines, deadlines, resources, and ensuring successful project completion. Expert skill using innovative thinking to solve problems and facilitate decision‑making. Expert skill interacting with staff, management, vendors, and members diplomatically and tactfully. Expert skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions. Expert skill producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives. Expert skill influencing, negotiating, and persuading to reach positive outcomes. Expert skill developing and implementing programs in a leadership role, providing vision and strategic thinking around technical decisions. Expert skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely. Expert analytical, planning, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Expert skill in analyzing technical issues to recommend and implement strategies. Expert verbal and written communication skills. Advanced database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent training, education, and experience. Desired Qualifications Advanced knowledge of NFCU’s functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives. Project Management Professional certification. Scrum Master and/or Product Owner certification. Change Management certification.
