Credit Coordinator (TEMP)

We are seeking an experienced Credit Coordinator to manage the full credit and collections lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts. This position plays an important role in supporting accounts receivable operations, resolving past-due balances and disputes, managing lien and bond requirements, and protecting the company’s financial interests while maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have 4–5+ years of recent, progressive credit and collections experience with solid job tenure , preferably within wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or construction-related industries . Candidates with hands‑on knowledge of lien laws, credit management, accounts receivable, and complex collections will be strongly preferred. This is a fully onsite, five‑day‑per‑week position and a temp opportunity Key Responsibilities Manage collection activities for an assigned accounts receivable portfolio, including timely follow‑up on delinquent and past‑due accounts. Manage customer credit accounts throughout the collection lifecycle, from initial account activity through resolution. Create, negotiate, and approve customer payment plans within established authority levels. Process and approve lien waivers in accordance with established procedures and applicable requirements. Monitor applicable state and federal lien and bond requirements for assigned accounts and territories. Identify and reconcile short payments, unapplied cash, and other account discrepancies. Investigate customer disputes and collaborate with internal teams to achieve timely resolutions. Facilitate placement of delinquent accounts with third‑party collection agencies and recommend legal action when appropriate. Maintain regular communication with leadership and sales teams regarding collection activity, account status, disputes, and potential credit risks. Communicate professionally with customers to resolve outstanding balances while maintaining positive business relationships. Visit customers or company locations as needed to address collection matters and strengthen working relationships. Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities, payment arrangements, disputes, and account status. Perform additional credit and accounts receivable responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 4–5+ years of credit, collections, or accounts receivable experience , with demonstrated stability and progressive responsibility. Experience managing customer credit and collection accounts from start to finish. Previous experience within wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or a related industry strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated customer service, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work effectively with customers, sales teams, operations, and management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office , particularly Excel. Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial and customer information. Preferred Qualifications Experience within the construction industry or construction‑related distribution environment . Working knowledge or exposure to construction lien and bond laws and requirements . Experience with automated collection platforms such as GetPaid or a comparable system. Strong understanding of accounts receivable, cash application, credit analysis, account reconciliation, and collections processes .
