Direct message the job poster from Motion Recruitment Executive Director, Enterprise Talent Services at Motion Recruitment Our client, an electric vehicle manufacturer, is actively looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join their team in Palo Alto, CA! This role is fully onsite so local candidates are required. ***This is a 1 year initial contract with the opportunity to extend or convert*** This Electrical Engineering Technician will be a part of the company's Electrical Hardware team and will work side by side with engineers to support the development of vehicle’s electronic control modules and testers. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable wielding a soldering iron, have experience with harnessing and wire management, and be able to troubleshoot printed circuit boards and systematic problems! Responsibilities General Lab Support: Perform diagnosis, rework, and repair of ECU’s, PCB’s, and testers, including prototypes and test bench setups (electrical/mechanical/software), to engineering specifications, current standards, and/or test procedures Create documentation for evolving test and assembly processes, to include planning out how work will be executed and maintaining detailed records of all work performed Understand and record reports, procedures, and status updates; able to communicate directly with engineers, manager, and other technicians to ensure a high level of technical support Perform root cause analysis with the ability to comprehend complexity of, and modify test sequences to identify failures, root cause issues, and optimize tester performance, maintenance, and networking Read and digest complex drawings and schematics of electrical systems and subsystems to trace signals within testers to identify and correct build errors including board & harness workmanship issues, EMI, grounding, RF issues, etc., and recommend corrective action or design improvements Ability to fabricate test boards and to solder as small as 204 components Required Skills & Experience Technology/Technician degree or equivalent years of professional experience 5+ years of technician work experience in electronics/engineering labs Soldering and harnessing skills Low voltage electrical safety knowledge and training Familiar with test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, antennas Electric vehicle experience preferred IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, IPC-7721 or J-STD-001 certifications are a plus Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Contract Job function Industries Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Motion Recruitment by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Get notified when a new job is posted.
