Job Description
The Customer Account Representative partners closely with customers to generate product and service orders while serving as a trusted expert in resolving complex customer issues. This role ensures all customer interactions and order activities comply with company guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable consumer laws. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple customer accounts, orders, and timelines in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service through clear communication, proactive problem resolution, and timely follow-up on all inquiries and requests.
• Resolve complex customer issues by researching account information, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions that align with company policies and consumer laws.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned customer accounts, including order history, pricing, timelines, and special requirements.
• Generate and process product and service orders accurately, ensuring correct pricing, quoting, and order entry details.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, operations, production, and quality to meet customer needs and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Utilize ERP and CRM systems daily to organize, track, and update customer information, orders, and interactions.
• Ensure customer complaints are documented and resolved effectively, maintaining compliance with consumer laws and internal procedures.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve and close actions within web-based database portals, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
• Develop and support improvement plans based on customer survey feedback and industry trends to enhance customer satisfaction and service quality.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing customer accounts, prioritizing tasks, and making decisions within established guidelines.
• Manage multiple customers and orders simultaneously, including tracking timelines, monitoring pricing, and ensuring accurate quoting and order processing.
• Maintain thorough and timely email communication with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency on order status and issue resolution.
• Leverage knowledge of the aerospace industry to better understand customer requirements and provide informed support, where applicable.
• Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support the overall customer account function and business objectives.

Essential Skills

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in customer service, order entry, inside sales, or order processing, including 2-3 years of experience working with multiple customers managing orders, timelines, pricing, and quoting.
• Proven ability to provide expertise in resolving complex customer issues using analytical thinking and sound judgment.
• Daily working experience with ERP systems; SAP or comparable ERP experience is preferred.
• Experience using CRM systems; Salesforce CRM experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in order entry, pricing, and account information.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage multiple customer accounts and priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, ensure accountability, and drive tasks to completion.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze information and apply standard practices to resolve more complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear, professional email communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and database management tools.
• Thorough understanding of standard customer account concepts, practices, and procedures.
• A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to meet applicable U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree is a plus.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with aerospace products, processes, or customers is beneficial.
• Experience working in a fast-growing or technology-driven manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret customer feedback and industry trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment
The role is based in a structured, organized production environment within a global aerospace engineering and manufacturing setting. The facility operates a cellular production layout with a light technical work environment, featuring clean work areas and extensive production and testing machinery. Team members work closely with cross-functional departments and rely heavily on ERP and CRM systems, as well as Microsoft applications and database tools, to manage customer accounts and orders. The environment supports strong advancement opportunities and exposure to a cutting-edge aerospace manufacturer in a fast-growing industry. Dress and conduct are expected to align with a professional, safety-conscious manufacturing and office setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
