PCU Nursing Float

We are seeking an experienced PCU Nursing Float to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit, demonstrating clinical expertise and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care unit.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient status and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapies.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatments.
• Participate in unit activities and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Float to various floors as needed based on unit demands.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care unit or similar setting.
• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
• Active Washington state or Compact nursing license required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends as needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems.

Working Conditions

• Shift: Days, 7 AM 7 PM, no block scheduling requests.
• Weekend and holiday work required based on unit needs.
• Floating to other medical-surgical and telemetry units may be required.
• High patient turnover; ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Unit Overview

• 32-bed progressive care unit.
• Patient ratios: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• Access to a dedicated IV team and pharmacy services 24/7.
• Common diagnoses include CVA/TIA, STEMI/NSTEMI, CHF, and acute/chronic renal failure.

Candidates with experience in Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) are a plus but not required. Our team values collaboration and welcomes travelers as integral members.
