PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse to join our cohesive team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a busy unit with a high patient turnover. The role includes floating as needed to accommodate patient care across multiple floors.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and perform assessments.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system (EPIC).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform various nursing tasks including reading telemetry strips, managing drips, and providing emergency interventions as needed.
• Participate in patient education and support.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington State or compact license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on PCU or similar units.
• Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
• Experience with Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) is a plus but not required.

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts: Days (7 AM to 7 PM).
• Weekend shifts will be assigned based on unit needs and demands.
• Flexibility to work holidays is required.
• No block scheduling requests will be accommodated.

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Stepdown.
• Total beds: 32.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4.
• Charge Nurse available for support.
• Nurse Aides ratio of 1:8-12 to assist nursing staff.
• Availability of rapid response teams and other support services 24/7.
