Job Description
Job Title: GI/Endoscopy Technician

Must-Have:
Requires strong proficiency in advanced EUS.
Requires proficiency in complex ERCP and stent placement, exchange, and removal.
Requires skills in stone management.
Solid manual scope washing and handling skills are necessary.
Skills in high-level disinfection using Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro must be demonstrated.
Must be proficient and independent in general GI skills including biopsy, snare, GI bleed management, injections, lifting agents, banding, and dilation with balloons or Maloney dilators.


Description:
This position involves working as a GI/Endoscopy Technician.
The technician will assist with procedures and scope reprocessing.
There is a high volume of inpatient and outpatient cases.
Common cases include EGD, colonoscopy, complex EUS, ERCP, stone management, EMR, stent placement (temporary and permanent), GI bleed, bronchoscopy, EBUS, and ION cases.
Techs will work 40 hours per week, typically 0700-1730.
Start times may flex according to case volume and may begin as early as 0600.
Endoscopy Technicians share weeknight call coverage, typically two nights per week.
They also rotate weekend call coverage, often on weekends with eight or more cases per day.
Weekday cases may occasionally run late.
Techs in this role have access to two procedure rooms and fifteen preoperative and recovery beds.
High volume advanced GI cases are expected, with 20-30 cases per day in two rooms.
The facility may cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.
Shared weekend and holiday call is required, with a response time of 30 minutes.
