Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to assist physicians and nurses in the operating room and endoscopy/procedure suites. The role involves preparing procedure rooms, sterilizing and handling endoscopes, assisting during procedures, and supporting the surgical and endoscopy teams to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent Surgical Technologist credential.
• BLS Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical/Endoscopy Technologist. Experience must be recent within the past 6 months.
• Proven proficiency in advanced endoscopy procedures including EUS and complex ERCP, stent placement/exchange/removal, and stone management.
• Demonstrated competency in manual scope washing, high-level disinfection (HLD) using Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro, and independent general GI technical skills (biopsy, snare, injections, banding, dilation).
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced skills in EBUS and ION preferred.
• Prior experience in high-volume inpatient/outpatient endoscopy environments and with complex GI case types (EMR, stent placement, GI bleed management, bronchoscopy, EBUS).

Assignment Details

• Shift hours typically 0700-1700 (noted operational shifts 0700-1730; start times may flex according to case volume and may be as early as 0600).
• Work schedule generally 40 hours per week, often structured as four 10-hour shifts to meet coverage needs.
• Rotating weeknight call coverage and rotating weekend call required. Call response time: 30 minutes.
• No floating to other facilities required.
• Orientation: 5 days of unit-specific orientation plus 12 orientation hours noted in order information.
