Bartender | Rusty Taco

Department: Operations Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports to: General Manager

Job Purpose

At Rusty Taco, we serve more than tacos, we serve an experience. As a Bartender, you’re a key part of creating that experience. You’ll welcome guests with a smile, mix flavorful drinks, and keep the bar lively and clean. Whether it’s a classic margarita or a creative twist on a cocktail, your attention to detail, speed, and friendly attitude help make Rusty Taco the neighborhood’s favorite hangout.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Service & Drink Preparation

• Take guest drink orders accurately and efficiently while offering recommendations based on preferences.

• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Rusty Taco’s recipes and standards.

• Check identification to ensure guests meet legal drinking age requirements.

• Deliver an upbeat and welcoming experience that keeps guests coming back.

Bar Maintenance & Cleanliness

• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked bar always.

• Prepare garnishes, refill mixers, and stock supplies during and between shifts.

• Perform opening and closing bar duties, including cleaning glassware, wiping down surfaces, and mopping floors.

Cash Handling & Operations

• Process guest payments using the POS system, handling cash, credit, and gift cards accurately.

• Follow all company cash handling and loss prevention protocols.

• Support the team with restaurant tasks during non-peak bar hours.

• Solid understanding of cocktail preparation and bar ingredients

• Committed to cleanliness, safety, and responsible alcohol service

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Previous experience in bartending, food service, or hospitality

• Title 4 certification is required

• Must meet legal age requirements to serve alcohol

• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand for long periods and move quickly in a fast-paced environment

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

• Repetitive motion including bending, reaching, and lifting bar equipment and ingredients
