Details Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of a hospital, occasionally overflowing into IMCU 32-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 Adult to geriatric patient population Cares for patients with arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia), cardioversion, CHF, chest pain, renal and pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT) Occasionally cares for surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains), vascular, post cardiac cath, TR bands, DKA, and occasional ortho or CVA overflow patients Manages cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin Manages diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Typically scheduled every other weekend, with permanent staff prioritized for scheduling Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed Rare call requirements with a 2-hour response time Uses Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of experience required Prior travel nursing experience required, including managing continuous IV cardiac medications Experience with basic arrhythmia knowledge and general Med Surg skills required Experience with TR Bands required Epic charting experience preferred Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips required (titration not required for this role) Experience with insulin drip titration preferred Experience with PICC line management, accessing/managing ports, and phlebotomy preferred Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and feeding tube care preferred Previous charge experience preferred Additional Information Navy blue scrubs required Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at the time of consideration No RTO requests permitted during orientation week Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day Local candidates accepted at the same rate First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Compliance documents must be completed promptly to avoid delays in start date Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit American Traveler Job ID P-742617.
